COVID-19 Update

FRIDAY OCTOBER 30, 2020

The Covid-19 pandemic was confirmed to have reached Myanmar on 23 March 2020 and the government announced temporary suspension of all types of visas for all foreign nationals to come to Myanmar from all countries on 29 March 2020. The curfew was imposed between 10 PM and 4 AM starting from 18 April in several states and regions to control the spread of the Corona virus and Yangon authorities declared 10 townships on semi-lock down except for purchasing food and medical care.

UPDATED MYANMAR CONDITION

Fifteen weeks after confirming its first Covid-19 case on March 23, Myanmar has reported 316 Covid-19 confirmed cases with 6 deaths, and 245 recovered. But most cases have been detected from quarantined peoples who are returning from overseas. Now our government has started relaxing the lockdowns but the curfew from 12 PM to 4 AM still remains. Hotels, restaurants, and many businesses can reopen, according to the guideline of authorities after passing the government inspection. Our government extended the ban of incoming flights to Myanmar until July 31, 2020, to contain the spread of Coronavirus pandemic, but the measure will not apply to relief flights, cargo flights, medical evacuation flights, and special flights approved by the Department of Civil Aviation.
